Enhanced Colorectal Cancer Therapy via Innovative Nanoparticle Mediated Delivery of Tea Polyphenols

Author(s): Elena Martinez

Abstract: Tea polyphenols have demonstrated potential in the prevention and treatment of colorectal cancer. However, its use in clinical settings has been hampered by drawbacks in terms of stability and bioavailability. This review aims to explore and evaluate the potential of nanoparticles as efficient delivery vehicles for tea polyphenols in the context of colorectal cancer therapy. In this review, we summarise studies on the efficacy of tea polyphenols on colorectal cancer and their limitations...

Evaluating the Antibacterial Effectiveness of a Novel Intra-Canal Medicament Against Enterococcus faecalis Under Hyperthermic Conditions: An In Vitro Study

Author(s): Muhammad M Mukaies, Aziz Abdullah, Asmahan Zinab

Abstract: This study aims to compare the efficacy of three types of intracanal medicaments in eliminating Enterococcus faecalis in cases of periapical abscess with systemic fever. The persistence of resistant microorganisms, such as Enterococcus faecalis, contributes to the failure of endodontic treatment, a very common problem in clinical practice. This study is particularly relevant under febrile conditions. The research addresses the challenge of eradicating resistant bacterial strains that cau...

Efficacy of Eggshell Powder and Nano-Hydroxyapatite as a Remineralizing Agent: A Literature Review

Author(s): Sarhan B., Almarwani S.A., Arab M.Z., Suliman A.H., Malki B.M., Althaqafi R.A., Algadouri M.A.

Abstract: Dental bleaching, while effective for tooth whitening, often leads to enamel demineralization, manifesting as increased surface roughness and reduced microhardness. This literature review systematically evaluates the efficacy of eggshell powder (ESP) and nano hydroxyapatite (nHA) as remineralizing agents for bleached enamel, comparing their performance with established commercial products such as casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP) and fluoride-based agents. A lit...

A comparative study between full-thickness and partial thickness skin grafts in the reconstruction of nasal defects

Author(s): Mohammad A Alhasan, Feras Melhem, Mostafa Ibrahim

Abstract: Reconstructing nasal skin defects presents a significant challenge for reconstructive and plastic surgeons, necessitating careful selection of techniques to achieve satisfactory functional and aesthetic outcomes. This study compared the efficacy of full-thickness skin grafts (FTSGs) and split-thickness skin grafts (STSGs) in addressing nasal skin defects among 19 patients. Patients were divided into two groups: 11 received FTSGs, while 8 underwent reconstruction with STSGs. Results demon...

Correlation Of SpO2/FiO2 To PaO2/FiO2 In Patients With Acute Hypoxemic Respiratory Failure

Author(s): Hassanain Qahtan Mohammed Albayati, Waleed Ibrahim Al-Ansari, Alhussein Mohammed Saleh Alhaddad, Mar AlMashhadani

Abstract: Acute hypoxemic respiratory failure (AHRF) is very common presentation with high risk of mortality and morbidity. Acute respiratory distress is one of the main causes of AHRF, it is often difficult to differentiate between ARDS and non-ARDS hypoxemia cases. The definition of ARDS requires the partial pressure of arterial oxygen (PaO2) from the invasive arterial sample to calculate the PaO2/FiO2 according to Berlin criteria which may be difficult to apply in limited resource settings and ...
